Timeline

During my time as a HND Drama I have been taking part in many opportunities I have been given to progess as a Actor and to become more of a versatile and many of this opportunities have included working with different performance based companies doing workshops and learning the ticks of the trade and in doing so have made me want to take part in more creative and daring workshops.

One of these workshops included the company punch drunk with is a physical theatre and acting based company that put on immersive products all around the world and have actually inspired me with their work when it comes to my own performances and when it comes to being creative within my work and working with Punchdrunk was fantastic we got to explore one of the sets based in London in 2017 and it was like stepping onto a movie set the attention to detail was amazing and being able to be in such a professional environment was very fun and inspiring, we got to work with one of the performers from the company and it was nothing less then educational and expanded my knowledge of the performing arts industry and the new levels practitioners are going to and it made me fall even more in love with Punchdrunk and everything they stand for and therefore if I had the opportunity to work with them again I one hundred percent would!

Another company I work with was creative seed a Sunderland based company who help not well known actors and performers become known in the area.

working with creative seed was exciting because it was introducing me to a new company that I hadn't heard of before and it was phenomenal, it was for a halloween parade as part of the Sunderland bid to allow Sunderland to become more of a theatrical and performing arts based city showing people what Sunderland has to offer.

This line of workshops was more dance/physical theatre which id never really delved into before and I was nervous but excited to learn more about dance and physical theatre and how as a performer it is key to be able to have these skills under your belt as it make you more of a well-rounded performer and at the end of the rehearsal process it came out fanatic and was very fun and working with one of the main team member of creative seed was helpful as it helped me understand what creative seed was about and allowed me to form a professional relationship with him and allowed me to demonstrate my pre-existing skills and what type of a performer I am and hopefully opened up a door to work with this company again in further.

Working with the Sunderland empire cinema to put on a halloween flash-mod was another great opportunity to work with all of my peers to perform a fun dance based performance and to get involved with the general public in a fun way and to show how we work as an ensemble and how we interact with a audience it led by our dance lecture was not only a way to develop more dancing skills but to also show a commitment and willingness to get involved with dance based events instead of only doing workshops and  events based on my chosen area which is acting.

The Jen foulds commercial dance workshop was a whole new experience for me as an actor learning some basic dance techniques such as  grooves, turns and a beginners pirouette and we also used some Jazz techniques as well.

the workshop lasted 4.5 hours and was filled with non-stop dance which at first I didn't think I would enjoy but I love every minute of it as it help develop my range of movement and dance and let me get insight and knowledge from someone who is in the performing arts industry I would love in further to take part in more dance based workshops to gain more knowledge and techniques within dance to further my skills within this subject.

Annie guy was another practitioner within the arts that we had the pleasure of working with, and the workshop she put on was dance and musical theatre based, and it was about  the musical Matilda and it was a very fun expeirce as I have had never really performer anything within the musical theatre genre expect from 'fame' in secondary school however, the workshop was fun due to it having acting style techniques and focus exercises to help build our ensmbles and create well rounded teams it also helped to inform me of other workshops and classes her and her company teach for actors and dancers and showed me that their is more classes available.

I love to do workshops within the performing arts industry as it helps a actor like myself to get industry links and contacts which can lead to future work and opportunities to make a name for myself and shows me the potential I have to make it in this line of work, in future I would love to work with the likes of frantic assembly a physical theatre company, Punchdrunk and many more great companies.
